WE ARE CITY

Fashion, photography, design and travel have always been our passion, but actually it all started after we had bought our first digital camera. From 2008 on we carried it with us on every single business-trip and brought home interesting street-fashion pictures of fashion-enthusiasts from all over the world – Hongkong, Milan, London, Berlin, Munich, Florence, Paris and Amsterdam. Photography has become a constant ritual of our common journeys. At this time we had our own blog referring to subjects such as street-fashion, lifestyle, travelling and arts where, among other things, we showed our street-fashion pictures. At one point we had the idea, that it would be interesting to find out where all those people we had taken photographs of, went for dining, shopping, where they spend their leisure time – to make it short - to know their favourite place in their hometown. The idea of We Are City was born! In the streets we specifically kept an eye on "fashionistas", took photographs of them on site and interviewed them for their favourite places. Only local people were our aims of course. After the interviews we went to their favourite places and took pictures there. The results were later on presented as collages in our blog We Are City. Over the course of time a cityguide for Cologne emerged. The idea became popular! Within a very short period of time we had many readers, even a radio station and print media took great interest. And so our project grew bigger, the blog became a website. On www.wearecity.de you find new tips in the categories Gastronomy, Nightlife, Public Places, Design & Art as well as Shopping & Style on a regular basis. We truly do hope that browsing will be just as fun for the readers as it is for us making it. Enjoy!
